Arizona might face lawsuit over new immigration law

The state of Arizona could be in trouble as it might face lawsuit over a new state law which gives authority to the police to question the immigration status of anyone they suspect of staying in the country illegally. This could create a wedge between the communities. Some even feel that the federal money might be laundered for searching for illegal immigrants. This response came within few days of governor signing the new law for tracking down illegal immigrants.

Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader told that a broad immigration bill cannot wait and now there is a need for comprehensive immigration reform. President Barack Obama has stated that he could persuade congressional to back immigration law overhaul but at the end of the day Republicans need to support it. He stated that immigration on its whole is a volatile concept and is subject to political exploitation and cannot be revised without a bipartisan agreement.
