European Union Immigration Reform
Filed in archive Europe by Matthew Schulz on September 13, 2007
Immigration officials from European Union member countries are considering a unified immigration law.

European Union Immigration Reform
Under consideration are new visa rules for "highly-qualified third country workers." The so-called "Blue EU Labour Card" would allow immigrant workers to more easily work within the European Union and permanent status would be available after five years. Additional proposals for unskilled immigrant workers are also under consideration.
