Illegal Immigration in the EU
Filed in archive Europe by Matthew Schulz on July 10, 2007
With so much debate in the US about unlawful immigration, we forget this is an issue for other countries too.

The new leadership in France has identified this as an important issue for the European Union. Like the proposed Comprehensive Immigration Reform package that was being considered last month by the US Senate, the French proposal for the EU would encourage employment-based immigration and discourage family-based immigration.

Another familiar theme to Americans is the French proposal on unlawful immigration. The French propose that there be a ban on the massive legalization of aliens unlawfully in the EU.
