Life During Ramadan for Expats
Filed in archive Asia on September 27, 2007
How do non-Muslim expatriates cope with assignments in Muslim countries during religious observances like Ramadan? Very nicely, thank you!
During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking and sex between dawn and dusk. People of all faiths are expected to act and dress modestly out of respect for the native Muslim population. The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding helps anyone unfamiliar with Ramadan and islam with regular activities during Ramadan.
