Now South Korea gives green signal to dual citizenship

A revision in South Korea immigration law has allowed dual citizenship for its citizens. This new law is aimed to prevent brain drain and invite talented foreigners. The new dual citizenship law is applicable to the following:

Foreigners married to South Koreans
Foreigners with exceptional talent
Overseas Koreans over the age of 65
Koreans with dual citizenship at birth
Koreans having gained foreign nationality through marriage

Earlier South Korea allowed naturalization only for foreigners who lived there for five years or longer, those who married Korean nationals and lived in country for more than two years. As per the new immigration law, photographs and fingerprints of foreign nationals also need to be taken for strengthening the security against terrorism. This law is applicable to foreigners who are seventeen years of age or older.

I have seen this in other countries also. I know they say they need talented people but a lot of times they want talent at a lower cost. Some dcountries have people who are not working and they still give visas to get new people to fill those jobs at lower prices. 2 years or married makes sense anyways so it is a good idea.
