The online visa waiver form is now mandatory if you're planning a trip to the US and you come from a country covered by the visa waiver program.

The new program, designed to improve U.S. security, has been voluntary since August, but became mandatory Monday. Travelers are being asked to fill out the forms at least 72 hours in advance of travel.Travelers have to fill out the forms at least 72 hours before they travel. They get a response of "approved," "denied," or "pending." If your application is pending, you have to check back later.
